- Lead the team: Assign positions, delegate tasks, coach employees, and keep the team motivated.
- Manage the shift: Ensure smooth operations from opening through closing, including breaks, staffing, and shift transitions.
- Customer service: Handle customer complaints, resolve issues, and ensure guests have a positive experience.
- Food quality & safety: Make sure food is prepared correctly and employees follow health, sanitation, and food-safety standards.
- Cash management: Monitor registers, cash handling, deposits, and resolve discrepancies.
- Inventory & waste: Monitor product levels, control waste, and communicate inventory needs.
- Labor management: Monitor staffing and labor hours to keep the shift productive and within budget.
- Cleanliness: Ensure dining areas, kitchen, restrooms, and workstations meet company standards.
- Performance management: Provide feedback and training and address attendance or performance issues.
- Reporting: Complete shift reports, communicate important issues to management, and document incidents.
