Job Description Straight Line Communications is an established commercial low-voltage contractor specializing in structured cabling, fiber optics, network infrastructure and related systems. We are searching for a Working Foreman / Low-Voltage Project Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role. We're looking for someone who owns the job, leads the crew, communicates with customers and trades, and isn't afraid to get on the tools (lifts, etc.) when necessary. Key Responsibilities • Manage commercial low-voltage projects from kickoff through completion, • Supervise and coordinate field technicians and daily job-site activities, • Coordinate with general contractors, IT teams, customers, and other trades, • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and network diagrams to plan cable pathways and equipment locations, • Install, terminate, label, test, and document CAT6/CAT6A structured cabling systems, • Install and terminate patch panels, racks, cabinets, cable management systems, and network infrastructure, • Install and terminate single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling, • Perform testing and certification using Fluke or equivalent test equipment, • Troubleshoot cabling, network connectivity, and low-voltage system issues, • Assist with data room buildouts and network infrastructure installations, • Maintain clear communication between field technicians, customers, and the home office, • Ensure work meets company quality, safety, and installation standards, • Operate lifts up to 40 feet; lift certification is a plus, • Travel to commercial job sites as required, • Maintain safe, clean, and professional job sites Required Qualifications • 10+ years of commercial low-voltage experience, including IP cameras, access control, and structured cabling, • Previous Foreman, Lead Technician, or Project Management experience, • Strong knowledge of structured cabling, networking, and commercial low-voltage systems, • Advanced experience with CAT6/CAT6A installation, termination, testing, and certification, • Fiber optic installation and termination experience strongly preferred, • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, • Ability to work independently, lead field personnel, and manage multiple job-site responsibilities, • Minimum OSHA-10 certification, • Valid driver's license (Company vehicle provided), • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, • Must provide and maintain industry-standard tools, • Must pass a background check and drug screening Preferred Qualifications • Fiber optic certification such as FOA, Corning, BICSI, or equivalent, • Experience with CCTV, access control, and other electronic security systems, • Experience using cable certification/testing equipment and documentation software, • Additional OSHA or safety certifications, • Lift/equipment operator certification If you are passionate about technology and want to grow with a company that values quality, professionalism, and opportunity, we encourage you to apply today.
