Attorneys are supported by experienced paralegals and legal assistants, along with established intake, accounting, billing, collections, human resources, information technology, marketing, and administrative teams.This support allows attorneys to concentrate on practicing law, serving clients, managing cases, and developing their litigation skills.Position ResponsibilitiesThe attorney will:Manage family law matters from inception through resolutionAdvise and communicate regularly with clientsDraft pleadings, motions, judgments, orders, discovery, and legal correspondenceConduct legal research and analysisPrepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, mediation, and trialAttend court appearances, conferences, mediations, hearings, and trialsNegotiate settlements and advocate effectively for clientsCommunicate professionally with opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and third partiesMaintain organized and accurate case filesComplete assignments and work product accurately and timelyRecord billable time consistently in accordance with firm policiesWork collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and firm leadershipParticipate in professional-development and internal attorney-training programsThe attorney will handle matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, guardianship, estate planning, and other legal issues affecting families.QualificationsSuccessful candidates will possess:A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law schoolAn active Kansas law license in good standingStrong written and oral communication skillsEffective courtroom, negotiation, and advocacy skillsThe ability to manage cases, deadlines, and client expectations professionallyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsA commitment to excellent client serviceThe ability to work effectively as part of a professional teamA commitment to continued learning and professional developmentFamily law experience is preferred but not required.
