Job Description We are partneriing with a respected personal injury firm looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to support litigation matters in East Syracuse, New York. This role involves managing case documentation, coordinating court filings, and assisting attorneys with research and preparation for personal injury and wrongful death matters. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable handling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare, review, and submit court filings in state and federal jurisdictions while ensuring all documents meet procedural requirements., • Draft and process litigation materials, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery documents, correspondence, and related legal paperwork., • Support attorneys by gathering legal and factual information, conducting records searches, and summarizing findings for case development., • Monitor applicable statutes, case law, and regulatory updates to help maintain accurate and current legal support materials., • Organize case records, verify document accuracy, and maintain well-structured files for active litigation matters., • Assist with discovery by preparing responses, tracking requests, and coordinating the collection of supporting materials., • Help manage witness and client communications, including outreach, scheduling, and follow-up related to ongoing cases., • Coordinate logistical tasks such as subpoena service, document handling, and collaboration with legal support staff to keep matters moving efficiently., • Contribute to trial and pretrial preparation by assembling exhibits, drafting reports, and assisting with briefs, agreements, and other attorney work product., • Use case management and legal technology tools effectively; experience with AI-based legal platforms is considered an advantage., • Prior experience in paralegal work supporting civil litigation matters is required., • Working knowledge of discovery procedures, court filing practices, and trial preparation activities., • Ability to draft, review, and proofread legal documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail., • Experience conducting legal, factual, and records research to support case strategy and document preparation., • Familiarity with case management software and the ability to keep files organized across multiple matters., • Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court-related contacts., • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative legal office environment., • Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or Certificate program in paralegal studies, • Minimum of 3 years legal experience, ideally in a personal injury field, • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience considered, • Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques, legal terminology, and government regulations, • Excellent legal drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills, • Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical, and critical thinking skills, • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, computer, • Ability to work with databases and on-line technological platforms, • Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible, • Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up, • Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format, • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies, • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
