Responsible for producing cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Interprets a physician's scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. Principal Accountabilities: \n 1. Interprets CT Protocols and correctly positions the patient for the exam. \n 2. Responsible for operating X-ray equipment that produces radiographs designated areas of the body for diagnostic purposes. Assists physicians in performing the imaging procedures, reviews and correlates patients' previous reports, and acts as a point of contact for various medical departments. Performs all aspects of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography on all patient populations, as appropriate. \n \n \n Principal Accountabilities:\n \n \n \n1. Responsible for performing imaging utilizing the appropriate equipment for diagnosis and treatment planning with regards to patient care. The incumbent demonstrates competency in skills necessary to care for patients served. Performs multiple types of imaging, including fluoro and X-ray, involving emergency room patients, surgical patients, inpatients and outpatients Principal Accountabilities: \n 1. Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. \n 2. Instructs/communicates with patient and/or patients family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patients ability to tolerate exam. \n 3. Prepares patient or area for IR procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. \n 4. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. \n 5. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. \n 6. Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner. \n 7. Assists leadership in maintaining all required policies, procedures, standards and records for applicable governmental, regulatory and accrediting organizations by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations of the OSHA, TJC, TDH and ACR. \n 8.
