Experience in insurance defense litigation is a plus but not mandatory.Experience Requirements:2+ years' prior legal assistant experience in a law office.Computer proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel & Adobe AcrobatHighly proficient in typing with excellent grammatical accuracyExceptional verbal and written communication, knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and proceduresSkilled in preparing, reviewing, and finalizing legal documents with meticulous attention to accuracy, formatting, and compliance with filing and service proceduresProficiency with electronic filings in the State and Federal CourtsPrimary job duties include but are not limited to the following:Insurance defense litigation supportDraft answers and finalize and serve pleadings, discovery documents, notices, stipulations, briefs, motions, affidavits, RJI's, etc.Proficiency editing legal documents and ensuring accuracyPreparation of reports for insurance carriers.Assist with document productions and redactionsAssist with preparation of witness/exhibit lists and trial bindersAssist with retention of expert witnesses, preparation of expert indexes, production of recordsCommunicate with clients and coordinate with support services, opposing law firms and courtsE-filing & E-Service (State & Federal)Case management and calendar management for assigned caseloadOrganizing and maintaining case files, including electronic files and document management systemsEntering and managing information in databases and spreadsheetsUpdating attorney case listsAdditional administrative dutiesSummaryAs a legal assistant, you will support attorneys in managing case files and ensuring the smooth operation of the law office.
