Role Overview
White Room bridal boutique is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Bridal Seamstress / Dressmaker to join our team. We offer excellent flexibility for this role: work can be completed directly at our Monsey facility, or we can provide the gown to be sewn off-site at your own workspace for a set price per gown. In this role, you will construct custom bridal wear from scratch and perfect the fit for our brides.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Construction: Build bespoke bridal gowns from scratch, tailoring patterns directly to unique body measurements.
- Precision Alterations: Conduct fittings and execute precise adjustments to achieve a flawless, exact fit.
- Fine Hand Sewing: Execute delicate hand-stitching, intricate bustling, and high-end finishing work.
- Fabric Handling: Expertly cut, handle, and sew delicate, luxury, and expensive bridal textiles (silk, satin, lace, tulle, chiffon).
- Client Interaction: Provide a warm, calm, and professional experience for brides during consultations (if working on-site). [
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Machine Expertise: Proven experience operating and maintaining Juki commercial sewing machines.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to independently troubleshoot fit issues, fabric challenges, or minor machine issues on the fly.
- Deadline-Driven: Strong time-management skills to deliver flawless gowns within strict bridal timelines.
- Interpersonal Skills: A friendly, patient, and empathetic personality to ensure a positive experience for our brides.
