Job DescriptionPosition Summary The Manufacturing Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, fitting, testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of precision mechanical and electro-mechanical products supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial manufacturing programs. This position requires a skilled tradesperson capable of interpreting engineering drawings, assembling complex components, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring products meet strict quality and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and quality. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components from engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures., • Utilize hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic presses, arbor presses, torque tools, and measuring equipment., • Perform precision fitting, drilling, tapping, reaming, fastening, staking, riveting, bonding, and press-fit operations., • Install bearings, bushings, seals, pins, fasteners, springs, electrical connectors, and other precision components., • Perform soldering, wiring, cable termination, and basic electrical assembly when required., • Conduct continuity, resistance, insulation, functional, and operational testing using multimeters, test fixtures, and specialized testing equipment., • Troubleshoot assembly issues and recommend corrective actions., • Identify defective parts, nonconforming materials, and process improvements., • Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly prints, bills of material (BOMs), and military specifications., • Maintain accurate production records and inspection documentation., • Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments including:, • Calipers, • Micrometers, • Height gauges, • Pin gauges, • Thread gauges, • Torque measuring devices, • Work closely with Engineering, Machining, Quality, and Production departments to resolve manufacturing issues., • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas following 5S principles., • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and DoD manufacturing requirements. QualificationsRequired, • 3+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience., • Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints., • Experience using precision measuring equipment., • Proficient with hand and power tools., • Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred, • Experience with Department of Defense manufacturing., • IPC soldering experience., • Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies., • Experience assembling machined aluminum and steel components., • Familiarity with military specifications and quality systems., • Forklift and overhead crane experience., • Basic computer skills for production documentation.
