SOUS CHEF — The Gentleman's Kitchen (TGK) Caribbean-Influenced Steakhouse · Flatbush, Brooklyn TGK isn't a restaurant group with a hundred locations and a manual for everything. It's a young, ambitious Caribbean-influenced steakhouse in the heart of Flatbush — prime cuts with island soul, oxtail ragu pappardelle, coconut crab curry, a serious bar program — building its name right now, and this role puts you in the kitchen while the standards are being set, not after. The role You're the executive chef's right hand and the line's anchor: running service, holding ticket times and temperatures to standard, training cooks, keeping prep tight and the walk-in honest. Dinner service Thursday–Saturday, brunch and dinner Sunday. Four service days a week — Mondays through Wednesdays are dark. Who this fits • A sous chef, or a strong lead line cook ready for the title, with steakhouse or high-volume upscale experience, • Someone who leads by presence on the line, not by volume from the pass, • Caribbean flavors excite you — or you're hungry to learn them properly, • You take consistency personally: same plate, same standard, every ticket What we offer • $45,000–$65,000/year, based on experience, • Weekly pay, • Staff meal on shift — 50% off or comped at management's discretion, training included, • A real growth path: this kitchen is developing its next era, and the people in it now shape what it becomes, • A team culture built on accountability with grace — mistakes get coached, standards get kept Apply
