Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year-round TurboTax Local Service Experts in one of our new TurboTax locations across the United States. This unique opportunity combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs. As a TurboTax - Local Service Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor, empowering customers to achieve positive financial outcomes while supporting Intuit’s mission of “Powering Prosperity Around the World.” About the Role: In this role, you will work on-site from a TurboTax location as part of a collaborative team of financial experts, serving in-person and virtual customers who use Intuit TurboTax products. Your primary focus will be full-service tax return preparation, providing expert tax advice, calculations, and software support, but your responsibility extends beyond that. You will be the connective tissue between your customers and a broader team of specialists covering business tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, and advisory services. This is not a hand-off model. You will sit in the same customer meetings, absorb the same context, and build a shared understanding of each customer's complete financial picture, then work in lock-step with the right experts to deliver a seamless, end-to-end Intuit experience. Your ability to understand each customer's unique situation and connect with them on a personal level is critical. Taxes can be stressful, and your presence as a trusted, knowledgeable guide makes all the difference whether you're helping with a straightforward W-2 filing, navigating a major life event like marriage, a new child, or elder care, or tackling more complex scenarios involving business income, investments, or amendments. Additionally, you will play a key role in growing TurboTax’s client base within the local community, attracting new clients, establishing long-term relationships, and driving customer loyalty. You will leverage TurboTax marketing support and software to empower you in building a thriving business that fosters prosperity for both you and your community. This role is nonexempt and requires onsite presence at a TurboTax location in the United States. What You’ll Do: Provide Tax Expertise - Give hands-on tax advice and complete preparation services for TurboTax clients, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments). Facilitate discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize tax liabilities, maximize refunds, and provide future tax planning advice. Utilize resources such as government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in personalized everyday language. Be a Proactive Community Ambassador - Embody a “community ambassador” and “business owner” mindset to actively build and grow a new local customer base for TurboTax. As a primary driver of local growth, you will own your market — identifying and pursuing prospects through targeted outreach, grass-roots marketing initiatives, referral networks, and community partnerships. Serve as the local face of TurboTax, converting new prospects into loyal, long-term clients. Organize and lead local events such as financial literacy workshops, community pop-ups, and networking gatherings with the support of TurboTax marketing tools and resources, to create consistent opportunities for customer engagement and brand awareness. Champion the Full Intuit Ecosystem - Act as a trusted guide for every client by developing a deep understanding of their complete financial picture and connecting them with the Intuit solutions best positioned to move them forward. As you build relationships through tax engagements and collaborative client meetings, identify opportunities to introduce clients to complementary services such as bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, or Credit Karma that meaningfully address their needs. Your role is not simply to deliver a service, but to ensure every client leaves with a clearer path and the full weight of Intuit's resources behind them for year-round support. Build Relationships - Connect with people, demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to their financial concerns and build the long-term trust that turns a one-time transaction into a loyal, multi-year relationship. Deliver a Best in Class Customer Experience - Create an exceptional customer experience, professionalism, and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals (e.g., saving for retirement, college funds, weddings, or vacations). - Interact with customers both in-person and through Intuit’s state-of-the-art video communication tools. Palus is backed by Y Combinator (W26). We are building a product that lets CPA and bookkeeping firms offer fractional CFO services to their business clients: high-quality work, folded into what your firm already offers, with no new hires or systems to deal with. It is a new service line that adds revenue and makes your clients stickier. \n \n We are launching a referral program for accounting firms, and before we do, we are forming an advisory board of about ten accountants to help us build it. The people on the board will be the program's founding members. This is an advisory role, not a job and not a client-facing position. We want your time and your input, and we will pay for both. \n \n What advisors help with \n\n • How to structure program economics to provide maximum value for firms like yours\n, • What the handoff and integrations between your firm and ours should look like\n, • Who else should be on the board, and introductions where it makes sense\n\n \n Who we're looking for \n Owners and partners of CPA, accounting, or bookkeeping firms that serve small and mid-sized businesses. You own the client relationships and decide what your firm offers. Firm size and industry focus do not matter to us; we would rather hear from a range of firms. \n \n Requirements \n\n • You are a partner or owner at your firm\n, • Your clients include owner-operated businesses doing $1M or more in revenue\n, • Based in the US\n, • CPA license is a plus. Not required.\n\n \n Commitment and compensation \n Part-time and remote, anywhere in the US. A quick call with us about once a month, plus occasional questions by email or text; expect no more than one hour a month. This advisory help is compensated. The referral economics are separate; founding members help set them and get them first. We start with a couple of conversations to see if it's a fit, then formalize from there. \n \n

The company has delivered consecutive years of growth and profitability and operates in a large, fragmented market with a long runway ahead. Its business model combines recurring software revenue with transactional and physical-product revenue streams, customer funds, and international operations—creating a CFO role with unusual breadth and a close connection to the business. What You'll Own ● Own the consolidated financial statements under US GAAP across multiple entities and currencies, including intercompany and FX. ● Act as the technical owner of accounting, including revenue recognition, principal versus agent judgements, and accounting for prepaid customer balances. ● Lead the external audit relationship, including group and statutory audits. ● Own the operating model, budget, forecast, and board and investor reporting. ● Partner with the CEO and management team on company priorities, and work hands-on alongside teams across the business on complex projects and new initiatives where finance plays an important role—from shaping the approach and economics to solving problems and driving execution. ● Manage cash, working capital, banking, FX, tax, and the controls and reconciliations behind customer funds. ● Own the control environment and drive a faster, more efficient monthly close. ● Improve finance systems and automation, including NetSuite and key integrations, to keep the function lean and effective as the business grows. ● Lead, develop, and performance-manage the international Finance team, setting clear expectations and a high bar for performance. What We're Looking For ● Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with hands-on accounting experience. ● Experience building operating models, budgets, forecasts, and board reporting for a PE-backed company. ● Strong business judgement and the ability to turn complex financial and operational issues into clear implications, choices, and recommendations. ● Proven cross-functional leader who can move comfortably from company-level decisions to hands-on collaboration with teams, bringing strong judgement to complex projects and initiatives. ● Strong people leader with experience setting clear expectations, developing high performers, and addressing underperformance directly. ● Strong US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 and principal versus agent judgements. ● Experience owning multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and leading external audits. ● Experience designing and running internal controls in an audited environment. ● Working knowledge of indirect tax in at least one jurisdiction, such as US sales tax, UK VAT, or EU VAT, and experience directing external advisers. ● Corporate transaction experience, such as a fundraise, acquisition, or sale process, including due diligence. ● Hands-on ERP experience, ideally NetSuite, with a track record of using automation to improve efficiency. Particularly Relevant Experience ● Physical goods, marketplace, or other transaction-heavy business models, including areas such as cost of goods, landed cost, or vendor rebates. ● Stored-value, prepaid, or payments businesses, including customer funds and breakage. ● International operations, particularly across the US, UK, and Europe. ● A first or second CFO role, or a VP Finance ready to step up, with experience leading finance in a fast-moving, scaling business while remaining hands-on, technically strong, and accountable for driving the function forward. Acquisition experience is a plus.
