Acts as primary liaison with state vocational rehabilitation counselors and consumer for ensuring HKNC services are aligned with the consumer’s abilities, talents, future opportunities and aspirations. PURPOSE: The Supervised Independent Living Program (SILP) provides a transitional living environment for older youth who are ready to move towards independent living but could benefit from a supported environment to build the skills required to live independently. SILP provides resources for youth aged 18 to 20 who are experiencing challenges as they transition to adulthood. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Clinical Supervisor has clinical and administrative responsibility for SILP apartments, under the supervision and direction of the Clinical Director. The Supervisor is responsible for carrying a small caseload, supervising clinical staff, ensuring the provision of psychotherapeutic, psychiatric and case management services for residents, overseeing administrative processes, and participating in various administrative and team conferences. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Required Bachelor’s degree., • Required ITP (Interpreting Training Program- must have passed written RID test) RID/NAD NIC Knowledge test must have passed., • Two or three years of interpreting experience with individuals who are DeafBlind and/or deaf-visually impaired., • Must obtain RID/NAD NIC certification within 5 years of employment., • Proficiency in methods of communication utilized by individuals who are DeafBlind., • Some evening hours will be scheduled based upon students or staff needs and must be flexible with travel when needed.
