POSITION OVERVIEW: The PROS Case Associate provides program participants with supportive and psychiatric rehabilitation services. The program aims to help each participant achieve a psychiatric rehabilitation goal related to housing, work, education and/or socialization and help participants integrate into the community. PURPOSE: The Kaplan House (Manhattan) provides therapeutic and support services to adolescent’s ages 17-21 who are referred to us through ACS and the Juvenile Justice system. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral, emotional, and functional/ development issues. Kaplan House offers an extensive independent living skills program, including vocational preparation, and educational services that assists youth towards reaching independence. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Clinical Director has full responsibility for the ongoing clinical and administrative guidance of the clinical staff. She/He also provided ongoing training, supervision and guidance to the clinical staff. The Clinical Director is the ITM (Integrated Treatment Model) liaison for the program. The Clinical Director is fully familiar with the Regulatory requirements and Agency/ Divisional clinical standards and practice. S/he functions as an internal resource on such matters. The Clinical Director is a senior member of the residential management team. In addition, s/he must provide safe, high quality, programs and adherence to the Jewish Board policies and procedures. The ATI Court, which is led by Administrative Judge Ellen Biben, seeks to forge a new response to individuals charged with felonies by linking them to community-based social services. The Court is the first of its kind, providing an innovative model for other jurisdictions seeking to develop and implement meaningful post-conviction sentencing options for individuals facing felony charges. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Senior Social Worker will be part of a team that provides neutral, third-party assessments and case management services to the ATI Court. The Senior Social Worker will conduct independent clinical assessments, provide referrals to community-based services, offer comprehensive clinical case management, and monitor participant compliance. Required Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Social Work or Master's Degree in Mental Health Counselling Required, • NYS LMSW or NYS LP-MHC Required (Eligible candidates with MSW or MHC degree who are scheduled or preparing to take license will be considered. License must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Salary will vary), • Experience in clinical work with youth and families required, including crisis management highly preferred, • Must have a clear understanding of the needs of young adults experiencing homelessness and a sensitivity to ethnic and cultural differences, and an understanding of the needs of the LGBTQ community., • Must have the ability to communicate with staff on all levels., • Demonstrated competence in verbal, written, organizational, and prioritization skills., • Capability to transition easily between working independently with a high degree of self-initiative and contributing as part of a team., • Excellent crisis intervention, advocacy and problem-solving skills., • Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based, youth development and trauma-informed perspective.
