Job Description Position Overview: The position of the Mechanic is to maintain, diagnose and repair fleet vehicles, specializing on buses. The mechanic is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, striving toward maximum reliability, functionality and safety. General Duties/Responsibilities: • Responsible for preventative maintenance such as changing tires, batteries, lights, controls, safety equipment, power steering, fluids, filters, etc., • Responsible for fleet condition by performing diagnostic testing repairs and rebuild of fleet vehicle components such as engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical, mechanical, internal and external components, etc., • Responsible for scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, including body repairs, HVAC systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension systems, brake systems and drivetrain components., • Responsible for DOT inspections and document results to insure that vehicles meet N.Y.
