Working with the GDC partners and support staff, the Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for the management and enforcement of the overall construction quality standards for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP) as required by the contract documents, quality control and quality assurance plans, and industry standards. Summary of Responsibilities The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) is seeking a Senior Director of Claims to lead the organization, tracking and resolution of all construction change orders, disputes and claims for the Hudson Tunnel Project. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Engineer and will work with GDC staff, partners and stakeholders to track and oversee resolution of technical changes and disputes. The candidate should have prior experience in claims management, assessment methodologies, use and interpretation of schedule data, and claim resolution strategies. Specifically, candidate should be familiar with assessing damages related to delays, acceleration and extensions of time (delayed start, shifted duration, etc.) as associated with the following: extended general conditions, escalation on labor, material and equipment, home office overhead and supervision, and loss of productivity/efficiency, cardinal changes, design changes and design errors and omissions, differing site conditions, interference, lack of coordination, lack of site access, lost profits, operational restrictions (hours, noise, delivery limitations, etc. ), subcontractor claims, and work suspensions. Job Description Position Summary Bennett Heat Treating & Brazing Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced and self-directed Maintenance Manager to oversee all production-equipment and facility-maintenance activities. Although the title is Maintenance Manager, this is an individual-contributor position with no direct reports. The successful candidate will personally troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems throughout the facility. A strong Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Supervisor who is ready to assume full ownership of the maintenance function may be considered. This position works frequently with 480V electrical systems, DC voltage, water pumps, vacuum pumps, furnace elements, fans, hydraulics, and other industrial equipment. The Maintenance Manager will also maintain repair records, manage preventive maintenance activities, monitor MRO inventory, assist with quality and safety initiatives, and support corrective actions. The current maintenance workload is approximately 40% preventive maintenance and 60% emergency or corrective repair. A major objective of this position is to improve the established maintenance program and move the facility toward a more preventive and reliability-focused model.
