ABOUT LIGHT SWITCH Light Switch is a neighborhood coffee and bar concept in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. We run as a specialty coffee counter during the day and transition into a warm, craft beer, wine-and-spritz social space in the evenings. Same team, same room, different energy. We are small, intentional, and care deeply about how people feel when they walk through our door — and when they leave. THE ROLE Lead Hosts are the backbone of Light Switch. You will anchor shifts across both sides of the day, dialing in espresso in the morning and running beverage service in the evening — while setting the standard for the team around you. You have worked with coffee as well as experienced in night time hospitality and comfortable making drinks, serving tables and running a busy evening floor. But beyond the craft, you are the kind of person who genuinely lights up when a guest walks in. You remember names. You make people feel welcome without being performative about it. You bring a positive energy to the shift that the whole team feels — and you hold that standard even when it is busy, even at the end of a long day. In Year 1, you will work closely with the owners and help shape what Light Switch feels like to work in and to visit. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Give every guest a genuine, warm welcome — and mean it every time, • Open or close the space and execute full setup and breakdown for coffee or evening service, • Dial in espresso, prepare filter and batch coffee, and maintain equipment to specialty standards, • Run evening beverage service: beer, wine, spritzes, and low-ABV offerings, • Train and support Hospitality Hosts on coffee standards, technique, and on-the-job skills, • Hold the floor during your shift — keeping pace, quality, and energy where they need to be, • Support food handoffs and light assembly during busy periods, • Keep the space clean, compliant, and welcoming from open to close WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR • A natural with people — warm, present, and genuinely happy to be there. Guests should feel it the moment they walk in, • The kind of person who brings positivity to a team without being told to — your energy sets the tone for the shift, • Trained barista with 2+ years of specialty coffee experience — you know how to dial in, and you can teach others to do the same, • Comfortable behind a bar: beer and wine knowledge, genuine hospitality instincts, • A natural at on-the-job coaching — patient, clear, and consistent with standards, • Calm under pressure and able to hold a shift without micromanaging, • Reliable, detail-oriented, and energized by helping build something from the ground up, • Available for some evening and weekend shifts, • NYC Food Handler Certification (or willing to obtain before start date)

Apply for Full time position.

• High level of customer communication ability, • Ensure guests receive pastries before leaving, • Restock ingredients, • Maintain strong awareness of guest experience, • Pull shots to dialed-in specs for each recipe, • Ability to steam and pour latte art to the standard set by the team leads, • In depth knowledge of all drink recipes, • In depth understanding of coffee beans, • Must have 1-2 years at a specialty coffee shop, • Must have an array of knowledge regarding coffee varieties, origins, and processes, • Knowledge on making drinks, • Pour over, • Milk Drinks, • Matcha, • Keep station clean, • Restock all cups and mugs, • Call out and run all guest orders, • Prep cups for to-go and dine-in service, • Ensure all glassware and ceramics are clean, • Ability to fully close bar at night and close the cafe Full weekend availability necessary

We are looking for an energetic, organized and hands-on Event & Community Manager to join our Brand & Culture team and help bring our new stores to life. Your main focus will be new store openings. You will work closely with our Senior Event & Community Manager to make sure every opening feels like JOE from day one, from the first local partnership to the opening-day energy. You will also support a range of other brand, community and cultural events across the US. This is a role for someone who likes to get things done. You are comfortable juggling multiple openings, working with local partners, talking to people, solving problems and being on the ground making things happen. We are not looking for someone who just wants to sit behind a desk and plan events. You need to be a doer. WHAT YOU'LL DO New Store Openings • Support the planning and execution of JOE & THE JUICE new store openings across the US. Own the day-to-day event checklist and make sure everything is moving toward opening day. Coordinate opening-day activations, local partnerships, DJs, fitness studios, creators, businesses and community partners. Help identify relevant local people, businesses, communities and cultural partners around each new store. Coordinate with local teams, Juicers and HQ to make sure everyone knows what is happening and when. Organize event materials, giveaways, sampling, signage, music, staffing and other opening-day needs. Help create energy around new openings before, during and after opening day. Assist with guest lists, RSVPs, event materials, gifting, product, staffing and logistics. Help create moments that people actually want to be part of, rather than events that simply exist on a calendar. Support events across different JOE markets and cities when needed. Community Building • Help JOE become part of the local community in every new market we enter. Research and build relationships with relevant local communities, businesses, gyms, studios, creators, universities, cultural organizations and other partners. Find opportunities for JOE to show up in the right places and with the right people. Help turn new stores into local community hubs, not just new addresses. Keep an eye on what is happening locally and bring new ideas to the team. Operations & Organization • Manage multiple projects and store openings at the same time. Keep timelines, budgets, contacts and event details organized. Coordinate with internal teams including Brand & Culture, Operations, Training, Real Estate and local store teams. Work with external vendors and partners when needed. Help track event spend and make sure we are getting value from every activation. * Recap events and openings, capturing learnings, results and opportunities for improvement. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 2+ years of experience in events, community, hospitality, experiential marketing, brand activations or a similar role. Experience working on events or activations from planning through execution. Extremely organized and able to manage multiple deadlines at once. Someone who naturally takes ownership and follows things through. A strong communicator who is comfortable working with both internal teams and external partners. Comfortable reaching out to people and building relationships. Creative and culturally curious, with a good understanding of what is happening in music, fitness, wellness, food, fashion and lifestyle. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where plans can change quickly. Willing to travel and work evenings or weekends when events and openings require it. Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture. Comfortable being hands-on. If something needs to be moved, fixed, picked up, set up or solved, you are not afraid to jump in. * You understand that a great event is about the people and the experience, not just the production. YOU ARE • A doer. You don't wait for someone else to solve the problem. Organized. You can have 10 things happening at once and still know exactly what needs to happen next. People-focused. You genuinely enjoy meeting people, building relationships and creating community. Culturally curious. You know what is happening around you and understand what makes people want to show up. Energetic. You bring energy into a room and aren't afraid to get involved. Detail-oriented. You notice the things other people miss. JOE. You understand that we are not just selling juice, coffee and sandwiches. We are creating an experience, a feeling and a community.
