Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production WorkerJob Description This role supports a high-volume manufacturing facility by assisting with machine operation on a crane-assisted production line. You will load and unload CNC machines and presses, assemble components using hand tools, and ensure parts meet precise measurement tolerances. The position plays a key part in preparing finished axles for the paint line and maintaining consistent production flow on the T1XX line. Responsibilities • Operate CNC machines and presses by safely loading and unloading parts throughout the production shift., • Use hand tools to assemble parts accurately on a production line according to work instructions., • Measure parts to verify they meet required tolerances and quality specifications., • Add covers to finished axles before they enter the paint line, ensuring proper fit and placement., • Follow all safety procedures and use crane assistance when lifting heavier components as directed., • Maintain a clean and organized work area on the production floor., • Support continuous production by working mandatory overtime as scheduled, including up to six days per week., • Communicate any equipment issues, quality concerns, or production delays to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.Essential Skills, • Prior machine operating experience in a manufacturing or production environment., • Hands-on experience operating production or manufacturing equipment of any type., • Ability to consistently lift up to 25 lbs as part of daily job duties., • Comfort working with overhead crane assistance for heavier lifts., • High school diploma or GED, required for conversion to direct employment., • Strong attention to detail when measuring parts and verifying tolerances., • Ability to follow safety procedures and production instructions accurately., • Reliability and flexibility to work mandatory overtime, including a six-day workweek when required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working on a CNC or press line in a production environment., • Familiarity with using hand tools for assembly work on a production line., • Comfort working in a fast-paced warehouse or production floor setting., • Willingness to work different shifts as needed by the facility., • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and safety standards.Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work on a clean, well-lit warehouse and production floor where safety is a top priority. The schedule follows a Monday–Friday first shift with mandatory overtime, and the facility is currently operating six days per week, including Sunday work at double time. Dress code includes jeans, a shirt without logos or vulgar language, and steel-toed boots or shoes. The environment is structured, safety-focused, and designed to support efficient, high-quality production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
