Job DescriptionJob Title: Welder / FabricatorJob Description This role offers the opportunity to fabricate and weld custom forklift attachments and material handling equipment within a small, hands-on manufacturing shop in Fresno, CA. You will interpret blueprints, perform high-quality welds, and take ownership of projects from initial layout through final inspection. Responsibilities • MIG weld carbon steel components to produce custom forklift attachments and material handling equipment., • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and shop specifications to plan and execute fabrication tasks accurately., • Fabricate and assemble custom equipment, including structural and material handling components., • Perform fit-up and layout work to ensure proper alignment and assembly of parts prior to welding., • Operate standard fabrication equipment such as grinders, saws, cutting tools, and related shop machinery., • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications., • Grind and finish welds and structures to meet required quality and appearance standards., • Assist with general shop activities, including material handling, setup, and basic maintenance tasks as needed., • Collaborate with production and leadership teams to meet customer deadlines and production goals., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety practices., • Use forklifts and other shop equipment safely to move materials and completed assemblies., • Apply mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic fabrication issues and suggest improvements where appropriate.Essential Skills, • At least 2 years of MIG welding experience., • Proven experience welding carbon steel components., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and shop specifications., • Strong fabrication and fitting experience for custom equipment and structures., • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, including grinders, saws, and cutting tools., • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis., • Strong attention to detail in weld quality, fit-up, and final assembly., • Experience working in a custom job shop environment rather than high-volume production., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting quality and schedule expectations., • Reliable and punctual work habits., • Team-first attitude with a collaborative approach., • Pride in craftsmanship and delivering high-quality work., • Self-motivated mindset with the ability to take initiative., • Comfort working in a smaller company environment., • Long-term career mindset with an interest in growing within the role.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working with heavy equipment, trailers, agricultural equipment, forklift attachments, or structural components., • Forklift operating experience in a shop or manufacturing environment., • Familiarity with hydraulic systems used in material handling or heavy equipment., • Mechanical aptitude, including basic troubleshooting and assembly skills., • Experience with TIG welding., • Experience operating a press brake., • Experience operating saws and other metal cutting equipment.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fresno, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
