CrowdPass Senior Software Engineer, Platform Lead CrowdPass | New York, NY | Full-time | Hybrid About CrowdPass CrowdPass is an event operations platform for access control, ticketing, and attendee management. Founded in 2021 in New York, we power the door at live events: NFC wristbands, handheld readers, QR check-in, badge printing, and the organizer dashboard behind all of it. When check-in breaks, it breaks in front of thousands of people. Reliability at the gate is the product. The role You will be the technical owner of the entire CrowdPass platform: the web dashboard, the .NET API, the mobile app door staff use at the gate, the edge services that talk to readers and printers, and the AWS infrastructure underneath. You will make the architecture decisions, review every change, run production, and write much of the code yourself. This is a hands-on role on a small team. The platform works in the field today and has a documented debt backlog. It needs one senior engineer who can hold all of it in their head and make it better every week. The platform • Web dashboard and public pages. Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind, Radix, TanStack Query. Event setup, attendees and tickets, Stripe checkout, gate rules, badge and email designers, a microsite builder, SMS and email campaigns, analytics, billing, a super-admin console, and an AI assistant. Deploys on AWS Amplify., • Backend API. .NET 9 Minimal APIs, EF Core 9 on PostgreSQL, MediatR (CQRS), Hangfire, Cognito passwordless auth plus machine-to-machine tokens for devices. Row-level multi-tenancy on a shared database. Integrates Stripe, Twilio, SendGrid and SES, S3, OpenAI, and ticketing partners., • Mobile app (iOS and Android). Expo SDK 57, React Native, TypeScript strict, Redux and saga, React Query, Zustand. Phone NFC, BLE handheld readers, QR and OCR scanning, Zebra badge printing, and a DSLR photobooth mode. Offline-first check-in with a local snapshot and a replayed write queue. Ships via EAS with over-the-air updates for event-day fixes., • Hardware and edge. ESP32 reader firmware (ESP-IDF, C) with OTA updates, a Node WebSocket middleware that bridges readers to the API, an Electron print agent for venue laptops, and AWS Lambda services for badge PDFs, wallet passes, and partner attendee sync (DICE, Splash)., • Infrastructure. AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, Cognito, SES, Lambda, CloudWatch, Amplify), GitHub Actions, Sentry, PostHog. A Terraform repo exists but has drifted from what runs; reconciling it is an early project. What you will do • Own production. Know why the gate is slow at 7pm on a Saturday and fix it. Build the alerting and runbooks that make that rare. Be reachable during major customer events., • Own the architecture. Decide how features get built across web, API, and mobile. Keep the tenant boundary, the auth pipeline, and the offline check-in path correct as the product grows., • Close the backlog. Each repo has a ranked gaps document. Triage it and work it down, starting with secrets management, authorization defaults, and production redundancy., • Harden releases. Grow test coverage where it matters (tenant isolation, checkout, check-in, offline sync), get the gates green, and make deploys boring., • Ship features. Ticketing, partner integrations, the AI event builder, designers, analytics, and whatever the next large customer needs. Test in a real browser and on a real device before calling it done., • Set the bar. Code review, conventions, documentation, and onboarding for the engineers who join after you. What we are looking for • 7+ years building and running production software, with at least 3 years owning a system end to end., • Deep experience in .NET (ASP.NET Core, EF Core, PostgreSQL) and in TypeScript and React. You will be in both every week., • Production React Native or Expo experience, including native modules, BLE or NFC, and app store and OTA release flows. This is required., • Strong grasp of multi-tenant SaaS correctness: data isolation, authorization, audit trails., • Hands-on AWS operations and the ability to debug a production outage from logs and metrics., • Stripe experience (Checkout, Connect, subscriptions, webhooks)., • Comfort with offline-first and eventually consistent designs: queued writes, idempotency, replay., • A track record of taking over an existing codebase and improving it without a rewrite., • Clear written communication. Our architecture docs are how the team thinks; you will maintain them. Nice to have • Hardware-adjacent software: BLE, NFC, device fleets over WebSockets, firmware OTA, printers., • Live events, ticketing, or venue operations, or another domain where software fails in public., • Background job systems at scale, PDF and label generation, Terraform, embedded C on ESP32., • Experience using AI coding agents well, with strong conventions, review, and gates. How we work Small team, high trust, direct communication. We test on real hardware and in real browsers before we call something done. Event days are sacred: we do not deploy during a customer's doors-open window without a reason. Salary: $80,000 - $110,000+ in addition to stock & equity participation.

Paid Campus Growth Intern — NYU \n Ami | New York City \n \n $22/hour · Part-time · Initial two-month internship, with the possibility to extend \n Weekly hours determined after our first meeting \n \n Help grow Ami through the communities you’re already part of. \n \n Ami is a live map of your city that helps you see where friends are, find out what’s happening nearby, and decide where to go. \n \n Ami was founded by Andrew Frame, founder of Citizen, and Shawn Fanning, co-founder of Napster, with backing from Founders Fund and 8VC. \n \n We’re looking for NYU students involved in multiple student organizations to help bring Ami to real friend groups and campus communities. This is a paid internship with hands-on experience in community building, partnerships, events, and early-stage startup growth. \n \n What you’ll do: \n • Build relationships with student organizations and campus organizers. \n • Help plan and run group onboarding sessions and activations at existing events. \n • Introduce Ami to friends and communities in an authentic way. \n • Gather student feedback and work directly with our team to improve the experience. \n • Track what drives genuine engagement—not just downloads. \n \n Who we’re looking for: \n • A current NYU student actively involved in multiple student organizations. \n • Leadership experience preferred—executive board, committee lead, event organizer, team captain, or similar. \n • Someone who enjoys bringing people together and follows through on plans. \n • Strong communication skills and comfort reaching out to peers and organization leaders. \n • Interest in consumer social products, community building, or startups. \n \n What success looks like: \n Onboard 3 student organizations of 25+ people each in your first month. That's the benchmark we'll use for the extension conversation. "Onboarded" means the group is actually on Ami and using it together, not just downloaded. \n \n No previous marketing experience required. We care more about your relationships, initiative, and ability to get things done. \n \n Compensation and commitment: \n • $22/hour. \n • An initial two-month internship, with the possibility to extend. \n • We’ll discuss your availability and agree on weekly hours after our first meeting. \n \n How to apply: \n Email your résumé and a short introduction to grace@ami.app (mailto:grace@ami.app) with the subject line “NYU Campus Growth Intern.” \n \n Tell us which student organizations you’re involved in, any leadership roles you hold, and one campus event or initiative you’ve helped organize. \n

About Saunter\n \n The way we gather is broken. Modern culture trades presence for digital sedation, and nightlife makes good health the price of admission. \n \n We’re building the successor to the bar—a new kind of third space, designed from first principles for how people want to gather today. Our first location opens in Williamsburg in early 2027, and the model is built to scale nationally. \n \n We’re artists and serial entrepreneurs—builders of creative and nightlife communities, consumer brands, and technology companies. We’ve spent our careers pushing culture forward, and this is our biggest swing yet. \n \n We’re backed by founders of some of the most influential technology companies of the past two decades, alongside one of the most followed voices in health. \n \n From first dawn to last call, a quick reset or a whole afternoon, our mission is to make room for warmer ways to gather. \n The Role\n \n You’ll shape the culture. \n \n Programming will determine what Saunter means to New York. You’ll own the calendar—Friday and Saturday nights, weeknight food and sound formats, morning classes, chef collaborations, daytime gatherings, and the formats we haven’t imagined yet. \n \n The weekend program has to earn a real place in New York nightlife. You should have exceptional music taste, relationships across the city’s DJ and creative scenes, and a feel for what makes a room important before everyone else has decided it is. If Saunter becomes known for the right nights, the halo will carry into everything else we do. \n \n The weekends make the brand. The quieter hours make the model work. The harder—and more revealing—work is turning taste into recurring formats people plan their lives around, so Monday means something here, Thursday means something else, and a Tuesday evening becomes a reason to leave the house. Capacity is perishable: a quiet daypart is revenue that never comes back. \n \n Not every hour should be programmed. Sometimes people should be able to spend an afternoon here without an agenda. Your job is to create demand without making the building feel busy for the sake of being busy. \n \n Sometimes the right answer will be an outside organizer with a community of their own. Over time, the goal is to build programming, audiences, and cultural properties that belong to Saunter. \n \n You’ll report to the CEO and set the calendar’s direction in close creative partnership. You’ll bring the roster, the formats, and a real point of view; the creative bar will be set together and held high. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Director, General Manager, and culinary team. Marketing leads audience acquisition and ticket conversion; you’re responsible for creating programs people genuinely want to attend and partners who bring the right communities into the room. \n \n This is a hands-on builder’s seat with no programming team beneath it to start—you book it, produce it, host it, and measure it. Nights and weekends are part of the job. During pre-opening and launch, you should expect to be in the room most Friday and Saturday nights, along with other major programs across the week. \n What You’ll Do\n \n Build the opening calendar. Join before the doors open and turn our programming strategy into booked reality: build the initial roster, recruit the morning instructors, lock the launch formats, develop backup options, and make sure the opening months express a clear point of view. \n \n Make the weekends matter. Establish Friday and Saturday as credible, distinctive nights in New York nightlife. Build relationships across the city’s music scenes, book the right talent, and create parties people return to—not one-offs that borrow relevance from a headliner. \n \n Give the week a rhythm. Design and run recurring weeknight and daytime formats across food, sound, movement, and culture. Own the morning class program end to end—from format design and instructor recruiting through scheduling and execution. Create reasons to visit during slower dayparts and build habits rather than one-off spectacles. \n \n Create Saunter originals. Develop recurring formats Saunter can own, refine, and eventually carry into future locations. \n \n Build the network. Develop lasting relationships with DJs, chefs, instructors, comedians, producers, artists, organizers, and community hosts. Know who is emerging, who is reliable, who brings a real audience, and who belongs at Saunter. Activate 57—our existing 12,000-member Brooklyn creative community—as a launch audience, source of collaborators, and window into the people and ideas shaping the city. \n \n Own the work end to end. Take programs from idea through talent outreach, negotiation, contracting, budgeting, production, run of show, on-site execution, settlement, and review. \n \n Make the programming perform. Direct the programming budget alongside the founding team and own event-level economics: talent costs, production costs, attendance, ticket revenue, venue spend, and contribution. Use revenue shares only when an outside partner creates enough value to justify them. Know what every format returns, and kill, rebuild, or expand it based on evidence—not attachment. \n \n Build demand with marketing. Partner with the Marketing Director on positioning, ticketing, launch timing, content, and audience strategy. Share accountability for attendance while maintaining clear ownership of the program itself. \n \n Protect the feel. Keep Saunter culturally current, warm, and inviting—never generic, clinical, self-serious, or attached to a passing optimization trend. Guard the unprogrammed hours too: someone arriving on a quiet afternoon should find calm, not a setup permanently in progress. \n Who You Are\n \n You have built programming that carries your fingerprints—parties, series, classes, or recurring formats you created that ran, grew, and outlasted their launch. \n \n You have been measured on the slow hours, not just the sold-out ones. You can say what a weeknight looked like when you arrived, what it looked like when you left, and what you personally did to change it. \n \n You have exceptional music taste and credible relationships within New York’s DJ, nightlife, and creative communities. You know the obvious names; your value comes from knowing what is next. \n You are more than a curator. You have personally taken events from idea through booking, production, live execution, and settlement. \n \n You understand the difference between cultural heat and borrowed relevance. A famous headliner, venue, or promoter does not automatically make a program successful, and you know how to determine what actually created demand. \n \n You are commercially fluent. You understand capacity, attendance, ticket price, talent and production costs, venue spend, and contribution. You have changed or killed programs you loved because the evidence said to. \n \n You make ambitious experiences on modest budgets. Resourcefulness excites you more than unnecessary production value. \n \n You bring structure to creative work. Calendars stay current, contracts get signed, talent receives what they need, budgets remain visible, and important details do not disappear during a late-night load-in. \n \n You are calm and present when the room is live. When talent is late, equipment fails, demand comes in below plan, or the energy is wrong, you take ownership and make sound decisions. \n \n You have a strong point of view and collaborate well with founders who have one too. \n \n Music may be your center of gravity, but you are genuinely interested in food, movement, comedy, art, neighborhoods, and the ideas that bring people together. \n \n You understand Saunter’s position instinctively. You know how to make health feel culturally alive without making it clinical, preachy, optimized, or overly earnest. \n \n Experience opening a new venue or concept is strongly preferred. Experience in New York nightlife, music programming, movement or class programming, high-touch hospitality, private clubs, or other multi-format venues is a plus. \n What We Offer\n \n\n • Base salary of $75,000–$95,000, based on relevant experience\n, • A founding creative role with meaningful influence over the identity and calendar of Saunter’s first venue\n, • The opportunity to create original formats that can shape a new national hospitality category\n\n How to Apply\n \n Tell us who you are and why Saunter. Send a short note and your resume to careers@saunter.space. We read every one. \n \n Saunter is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of every background and meet people where they are.
